Child Protective Service Workers Gave Mother Bad Feeling - She Was Right

When Child Protective Services comes knocking, good parents usually try to be cooperative in hopes of settling the matter quickly. One woman got a phone call and a visit, and even as she cooperated she couldn't quiet a nagging concern.

It turns out her mommy senses were tingling for a reason.

Amanda Walker, a mother of two young children, says a woman who claimed to be from CPS called her and told her that she was reported for neglecting her children. She agreed to a visit, and a couple of days after the call two women showed up at her home with car seats.

Walker was very suspicious. The women in business suits didn't have ID or business cards. All they had was a piece of paper, which they explained was a court order.

The women walked around her house and took photos of her infant son. They claimed they'd be back to take Walker's two children away.

When the women left, Walker called the police to investigate. It turned out that there is no case on Walker with CPS. Not only that, but another woman in the area also got a fraudulent visit from people claiming to be from CPS.

April Faulkner says a woman showed up at her door and demanded that she turn her children over. The imposter didn't have a police officer with her, so Faulkner refused and called her local CPS office.

They told her to call police; they hadn’t sent the woman.

Police are warning parents to check IDs and call authorities if CPS workers show up at their home.
