Donnie Wahlberg Leaves Huge Tip At Waffle House Before Giving Staff Backstage Passes

Mr. Donnie Wahlberg is no stranger to showing tremendous amounts of generosity to staff at Waffle House chains across America. This time, however, Mr. Wahlberg has outdone himself, leaving a tip of $2000 to staff at a Waffle House in Charlotte, North Carolina, before also offering every staff member front row tickets and backstage passes to his concert.

The 47-year-old ‘Blue Bloods’ star and ‘New Kids on the Block’ singer gave his generous tip while visiting a Waffle House after flying into Charlotte, North Carolina from New York. The singer took to Instagram to post a photo of his $82.60 check, with a whopping tip of $2000. Mr. Wahlberg captioned the image with a heartfelt meaning behind his generosity:

“My mom waited tables, and my dad tended bars- for years! So when I walk into a #WaffleHouse, and the staff treat me like a king, you better believe I treat them like queens! Thanks to the team at @wafflehouseofficial Charlotte, NC!”

Although his generous tip left wait staff beaming, Mr. Wahlberg did not stop there. Mr. Wahlberg also took to Facebook to document his meal at Waffle House, sharing a live video in which he can be heard inviting staff to his upcoming concert and even offering them backstage passes. “We need to come to Charlotte more often. This Waffle House is love. Everyone’s in a good mood in this Waffle House. Southern Hospitality!” Mr. Wahlberg stated as he panned the camera across the busy restaurant. Mr. Wahlberg then goes on to say, “We’re just going to have to invite the whole Waffle House to the concert tomorrow,” passing out a verbal invitation to his waitress, known as Chocolate.

Mr. Wahlberg went on to invite a number of the wait staff to his concert for the following evening, telling another young waitress, Trina, “We’re going to give you tickets. Everyone’s going.” Mr. Wahlberg has been documenting his trip across America, posting numerous photos of himself and teams of workers from a number of Waffle Houses across the country. In each and every Waffle House, Mr. Wahlberg has made sure to leave generous tips and other gifts for the staff. Earlier on his tour, Mr. Wahlberg dined at a Waffle House in Edgewood, Maryland for an early morning breakfast. After his meal, Mr. Wahlberg “left a $500 tip for the three of them to split,” according to Jessica Reed, an employee at the restaurant.

In particular, Mr. Wahlberg made one fan’s day, giving her tickets to the ‘Boyz II Men’ and the ‘New Kids’ show. Mr. Wahlberg told a waitress named Jasmine, “…we’re giving you backstage passes and tickets tomorrow for your mom too,” before telling the camera that “She’s bringing her mom. She’s coming tomorrow, she’s going to meet Boyz II Men and all the New Kids.”

Mr. Wahlberg, who owns a Wahlberg burger chain with his two brothers, Mark and Paul, appears to be promoting a wonderful appreciation of hard-working wait staff across America.
