Grandma Inspires Generation Of Workers By Quitting Job With Quirky Resignation Letter

Work can be a great thing if you're lucky. A good job can be stimulating, rewarding, and make you feel productive. At the end of the day, no matter what you do, you should feel like you've accomplished something.

For some jobs, not so much. Rather than rewarding, they're soul-sucking and depressing. Do you get to the point at which you feel you need to choose: are food and rent worth feeling like your spirit has been crushed by some kind of cosmic anvil?

One grandmother from Scotland decided her job just wasn't worth it, so she penned a letter of resignation. Obviously, it was a joyful occasion for her to be leaving.

A Twitter user shared her grandmother's hilarious letter. It read, "The joab's [sic] crap and I'm leaving," the typed letter reads. "I'll no be back after June 30. Canny wait."

"Good luck in getting some other mug to clean the place. Cheerio," the grandmother said.

"Yee Ha," she added after the signature.

Clearly, this woman was not planning on ever coming back or worried about good references. She sounds beyond done.

Ever since Johnny Paycheck crooned 'Take This Job and Shove It', disgruntled employees have dreamed about telling off their nightmare of a boss and walking out. For some jobs, it’s almost worth facing financial ruin. Twitter users were quick to respond with cheers for the elderly woman.

"This made me laugh alone in bed," one woman tweeted.

"I love this so much," said another.

"Love this! I should have wrote this in mine last week," said one man.

"I just quit my job, I wish I'd seen this before I submitted my letter! I'm not even half kidding! She's awesome!!" a lady tweeted, followed by a string of applauding emoticons.

Some people doubt it actually happened, but other’s point out the spelling errors and ‘Marlene is such a granny name’ that they think it’s legit. Maybe some people are jealous that Marlene got to do what they don’t have the guts to do. Or maybe they’re the nightmarish bosses that everyone hates.
