Instead Of Throwing The Bouquet, The Bride Does This And Makes Her Bridesmaid Cry

On the wedding day, the bride is supposed to be the center of attention. A lot of 'bridezillas' go completely overboard in ensuring they get the spotlight from start to finish.

Some women are very demanding, and wouldn't want anyone to upstage them even for a moment.

Thankfully, not all women are that self-centered. There are some very secure, very cool women out there who care more about love and friendship than they do about hogging the spotlight, even on their wedding day.

One bride proved this when she decided to share her special day with a good friend. She helped her friend's boyfriend arrange a surprise proposal at the reception.

Jess Nakrayko from Saskatoon, Canada was just happy to be marrying the love of her life. She thought nothing could make the day better than sharing that love with others, so she helped plot a surprise for her bestie, Jessica Kieley.

Kieley had no idea what was in store for her that day. The ceremony went off without a hitch, and the reception was well underway.

It came to the part of the party at which the bride was supposed to toss the bouquet.

All the males and unmarried females left the dance floor. Nakrayko pranced around in her beautiful gown, holding the bouquet, teasing all her single friends with it playfully.

She walked up front and acted as though she was going to throw the bouquet, but stopped at the last possible second. Kieley was puzzled when Nakrayko turned around, walked over to her and handed her the bouquet.

Then she turned around to see her boyfriend on one knee behind her, holding a ring. A look of shock came over her as she realized what was going on.

Kieley's long-time boyfriend proposed right there at the wedding, and Nakrayko is delighted that she had a hand in setting up the memorable proposal.

“I had my two best friends and my sister as my bridesmaids,” the bride told the Huffington Post.

“My sister was living in Australia, and Jess literally poured herself into my wedding. She planned a full trip to Montreal for my bachelorette, hosted an incredible shower and just did a lot leading up to the wedding.”

Nakrayko had no reservations about sharing the spotlight that day. The only other people in the know were the groom and the photographer, who knew just where to aim the camera when the surprise proposal went down.

“I was looking forward to that all day. Even walking down the aisle I was so excited about it happening.”

The way Nakrayko sees it, it didn’t take anything away from her that day.

The proposal didn’t ‘steal her thunder’ or upset her. It just made the day more memorable.

“The way my husband and I looked at it was sometimes the actual concept of a wedding gets lost. It’s to marry your best friend and spend the rest of your life with them and celebrating love and sharing your love with everyone else,” she says.

“My best friend was starting her love story — I didn’t even think about that being me giving up my day. I have love and I want people close to me to have that love too.”
