Man Caught Wife Cheating Using An iPhone App

When one man suspected that his wife was cheating on him, he decided to put technology to work for him in order to catch her. He used a simple iPhone app to follow his wife and track her down.

He caught her in the act, but after a confrontation with his wife's lover, he found himself facing a jury. The defense attorney says his client should get a medal for the way he handled the situation, not a prison sentence.

Sean Donis, a florist from New Jersey, thought his wife was having an affair. “She would hide her phone. I’d touch the phone — she would get very nervous and say, ‘No, don’t touch my phone.’"

"She’d go to work looking extra pretty. And she lost a lot of weight also,” he told the New York Post in an interview.

He installed the 'Find My iPhone' app on her phone, then tracked it when he suspected she was meeting with her lover. Donis tracked his wife to a home in Rockland County.

He let himself in and burst into the bedroom. The whole time he was filming with his cellphone.

He was right - his wife was cheating. He caught her in bed with Albert Lopez, her boss.

Donis was furious and screamed at the naked couple.

Donis is now facing felony burglary charges.

“I was in fear,” Lopez said. "I kept telling him you need to get out of here."

Donis was too busy yelling at his wife, Nancy Augero Donis.

“I can’t believe you, Nancy!” he can be heard shouting in the video he took.

“All on video! Both of you mother-f—ers are fired tomorrow.”

The video was later played for jurors and used as evidence against Donis.

Lopez was so flustered that Donis wouldn't leave that he threatened him by asking 'if he wanted to die'.

“Kill me. I don’t care,” Donis responded.

Lopez said he felt threatened. He continued to feel threatened when he got a message on Facebook the next day saying, "Bring it, bro."

"Slept with my wife. Good one f--got,” it continued.

“I couldn’t go to sleep. I had repeated memories of what occurred. I started to go through the house and check all the doors and make sure they were locked," said Lopez in court.

Howard Greenberg, the defense attorney, told jurors, "The defendant should be given a medal for the amount of restraint he showed when he entered that scene."

Greenberg was harsh on Lopez in questioning him about the infidelity. “Did you even think what effect the defendant finding out about you two would have … on their child?”

“Yes," said Lopez.

“But you banged her anyway?” Greenberg asked. “Who the hell are you to sleep with another man’s wife?”

“Sean Donis broke into his home and invaded his privacy," argued the prosecuting attorney, pointing out that he filmed the homeowner without consent.

If convicted, Donis may face up to 15 years in prison.

“I feel like it’s unjust what they’re doing to me,” said 37-year-old Donis to The Post. “It’s like I’m being punished twice.”

“He commits a trespass that in a sane jurisdiction is a violation and not a crime, and he uncovers the greater evil of his wife screwing some stranger,” Greenberg said. “No jury is going to convict this man of anything, let alone a felony.”
