Woman Asks Teen Girls To Be Quiet In Movie Theater - Teen's Mom Reaches Out, Apologizes

Alabama mom Kyesha Smith Wood posted a message on Facebook over the weekend after her two teenage daughters disrespected another mother, Rebecca Boyd, in a movie theater in Bessemer, Al.

Apparently, her teenaged son told her the just-turned-13-year-old girls interrupted the movie repeatedly, and Boyd requested they be quiet. The girls, however, made a rude response.

After the movie, Boyd told the girls her husband had lost his job and that movie was likely the last one in a while for her family. Wood noted she felt horrible about the way her daughters had acted after hearing about the situation.

That’s why she decided to post on Facebook to find Boyd and apologize. Wood posted a message on the McAdory-McCalla Community News Facebook page. Apparently that post was then shared on the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Facebook page and has now received over 200,000 likes.

It turned out Boyd did eventually get in touch with Wood. "

She's the most gracious, kind and forgiving woman. I am so humbled by that and I've been telling people the real hero of the story is her," Wood says. "She took it upon herself to correct my girls and no one else around them did." Wood also says her daughters will write an apology letter to Boyd and turn over some of their "allowance to buy the family another trip to the movies."

“My girls are so mortified. They are humiliated. And that's okay because I told them, 'you know what, you're not going to do this again," Wood adds.

“They said mom broke the Internet!...They do Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, and they master it all. I'm like, 'you are never going to get 180,000 likes! So, just act right, use it responsibly, because obviously I am doing something better than you," Woods explained with a laugh.

Perhaps the best news of all is that the Boyd family has also gotten several job offers because of all the publicity about the post.
