Homeless Mom Asks Sheriff For Help Finding Shelter, He Pays For Hotel Out Of His Own Pocket

An Ohio mother and her two sons were evicted from their home, so she went to the sheriff's office to see if she could get help to find housing. She ran into a deputy who went above and beyond the call of duty to help her.

Deputy Brian Bussell heard the woman's story and immediately booked her and her sons at a hotel for 10 nights.

He paid out of his own pocket for the hotel, but he didn't stop there.

Before bringing the family to the hotel, he dropped them off at the local Walmart. He told them to shop for clothes and shoes and to call him when they were ready to check out.

Again, Bussell's paid out of his own pocket.

The kind deputy, who has been an officer for 25 years, didn't tell anyone about his generosity. It was the mother who snapped his photo and posted his picture to Facebook to tell the world what he had done.

Sheriff Richard K. Jones isn't that surprised at the 'true act of kindness,' but he is very proud.

"This speaks volumes in light of all the recent negativity people are saying about law enforcement," said Jones. "I have some of the best employees here.”
