Three Year Old Becomes Internet Superhero After School Picture Day (Photo)

Many parents can get so fussy over school picture days. Countless children have to suffer through hair styling and dress in outfits their mom picked out for them. This could be why so many school photos look so awkward and faked: they're trying to capture an illusion of a perfect little school child rather than the kid's true self.

Parents in Rocklin, California have been proudly sharing their little school girl's photo. She picked out her outfit herself, and the mom and dad couldn't be happier. They said it shows off her true spunky personality.

Kaylieann Steinbach, age three, posed for her school photo in a Superman costume while clutching her beloved Superman doll. The cute photo of the little girl in a cape with her action figure has gone viral.

The photo shows off the real Kaylieann, say her parents. The girl goes to Merryhill Preschool and she wears superhero costumes just about every day. When school pictures were scheduled, Kaylieann was in the midst of a Superman trend.

The toddler was so determined to wear her blue superman outfit every day that her parents had to wait for her to fall asleep at night so they could sneak it away for a wash. Her dad sees nothing wrong with his child dressing up in costume every day, and loves that she's wearing her red and blue ensemble for the picture.

“As proud as any parents can be we do our best to support her with everything, including outfit choices,” her father told CBS News. “We always let her dress herself and her choices show her personality well.”

Mr. Steinbach says his daughter is very open, friendly and smart as a whip. Every day she says something surprising that brings laughter. He thinks the outfit is the perfect way to remember this year for her.

“Since we’ve always let her choose her outfit we will continue to let her,” Steinbach said. “She loves expressing herself with her choices.”
