It’s one thing to spread an anti-bullying message to kids, but apparently adults are in need of this lesson too. Liz Krueger came across some serious mean girls when she went to a wedding and was harassed by adult bullies.
The fitness coach from New Zealand opted to wear a short, strapless dress to a friend’s wedding since it was a 90-degree day, according to the Huffington Post. Fellow wedding guests spared her no mercy for her clothing choice, as Krueger said she was started at, insulted and even had a drink poured on her.
“If only I knew that choosing this dress for a wedding on a 90-degree day meant so many women would be outrightly rude to me, and even come up behind me slap my ass as I’m standing alone,” she wrote.
Krueger took to Facebook to decry the shameful behavior of other adults who she says went as far as to dare one woman to spill a beer on her after declaring Krueger to be a “target.”
“Just one of maaaaany acts of kindness of the night!” she said on Facebook. “Yup. That happened. Good thing for thick skin, being able to laugh at things and not take it personally, and good friends/hubby by my side #adultsarebulliestoo.”
According to Huffington Post, Krueger said she didn’t let the behavior of others get her down or stop her having a wonderful time at the wedding. She’s now started a kindness campaign, which is a “movement for women, by women” that encourages women to do nice things for each other every day and post about it on Instagram with the hashtag #KruegerKindness.
