H&M Will Launch Skincare Line

In March, look out for H&M new Organic Skincare Collection, the products will be under $8, which is very affordable. The line will come in three scents: raspberry, melon and lavender mint. The collection will feature body lotion, body scrub, lip balm, hand cream, shower lotion, a toilet bag and makeup bag. Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s head of design had this to say about the line:

“It felt like a natural step, since we’ve worked with organic cotton garments for a few seasons now. There’s also a strong demand from our customers for organics, and I hope they will be as excited as I am about the new products,”

This is definitely something to try out.

Beyonce “Heats” Up New York

Beyonce has been going hard ALL over New York promoting her new fragrance Heat. Earlier this week, she appeared in Union Square, and last night she made an appearance at Macy’s Herald Square.

Here is what Beyonce had to had say about her new fragrance:

I wanted it to be original and I didn’t want it to be like all the other celebrity
brands.” explained Knowles. “It’s been two years in the making. Every little detail is very personal, so I’m extremely proud.”

My first memory of fragrance is my mother, and as a very young girl, hearing her footsteps…her stilettos click, click, clicking on the hardwood floor and she wore a beautiful fragrance and she would walk past me and it would just stay in the room. It left a warm feeling every time I thought about her scent.

Beyoncé Heat starts at $49 at Macy’s.

Bey is definitely one of, if not THE, hardest working woman in entertainment right now, and apparently funny talk show host, Chelsea Handler (of Chelsea Lately) thinks she should go sit down and take a break. Last night on her show, she went IN on Beyonce and her appearance at the Grammys:

I was enjoying the show until Beyonce stomped her way onto the stage like a Clydesdale and did this *shows clip of Beyonce grabbing her crotch* Why you grabbing between your legs Kitty Kat? I thought all of your junk was in your trunk. It’s pretty inappropriate. This is a Family show and wherever they are, the two kids I gave up for adoption should not be seeing that.

So Listen up Badonkabonk, NOt to long ago you made a public statement that you were going to take some time off. What happened? You don’t think I can recognize you just because for once you are not wearing a unitard. Kanye West may be a jack ass but atleast when he said he was going away he did, unlike you, he’s a douchbag of his own word.

Oh, Chelsea. She’s definitely never one to bite her tongue. Check out the video below:

Beyonce Brings The “Heat”

Beyonce has released a 10 sec commercial for her new fragrance “Heat”, which is set to be released at Macy’s in February 2010. When asked why she choose the name Heat, she stated:

“A lot of my performances have had fire involved, so we thought ‘Heat.’ Also, red is one of my favorite colors, as is gold.”

Before she launched it she had her fans test it out and they loved it. This is also not her first time being a face of a perfume before, as she has Tommy Hilfiger’s True Star and Giorgio Armani’s Emporio Diamonds under her belt.

Heat is a mix of red vanilla orchid, magnolia, neroli and blush peach, and the price range is very reasonable going from $39 to $59 a bottle.

Lady Gaga x Cyndi Lauper for MAC’s Viva Glam Campaign

Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper will both be featured in MAC’s 2010 Viva Glam campaign. The product will hit the stores on March 18th, and fans will be able to have their own Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper lip colors, Viva Glam Gaga and Viva Glam Cyndi. Nice! By participating in this campaign, these two are joining the ranks of Missy Elliott, Fergie, Christina Aguilera, and more.

Summer Skin Care

Of course there are your fashion do’s and dont’s, but its not as important as skin care do’s and dont’s! It’s true what they say, “what goes on your skin, isn’t as important as what goes in your skin [or pores]“:

I have the Top 5 Do’s and Dont’s

NUMBER 1

Don’t take too many showers. Yes, it’s summertime and you’re working up a sweat, but taking multiple showers throughout the day can wreak havoc with your skin: Though you might think it’s hydrating, topically, water can have a drying effect on your epidermis. To avoid looking like Rachel Zoe a prune, douse in small doses and always moisturize immediately after showering.

NUMBER 2

Do drink plenty of water. While topically water can hinder your skin, drinking 64 ounces of water daily is essential for a healthy complexion because it flushes out toxins and keeps your insides running efficiently. Whether you drink bottled, filtered, or tap water doesn’t matter—getting your eight glasses in matters most. Remember that fruits and veggies are also good sources of H20.

NUMBER 3

Don’t drink too much coffee. While a cup a day—minus whipped cream, sugar substitutes, etc.—may be beneficial, too much Starbucks can be dehydrating. (Your skin needs all the hydration it can get!).

NUMBER 4

Do lavish your face and body with coffee topically. Numerous studies point to coffee-derived caffeine’s skin-tightening and redness-soothing properties, making it the perfect antidote to undereye pouches and rosacea. In addition to stocking your shelf with caffeine-laced eye and face serums, you might also consider investing in caffeinated anticellulite creams, as they’ve been shown to temporarily lessen the appearance of bootay dimples.

NUMBER 5

Do moisturize regularly. Yes, I know it’s hot and you don’t like the feeling of your Jergen’s dancing around on your back with your sweat, but you must keep your skin quenched! It would be even better if you substituted your lotion with sunscreen, that way you can protect your skin from harmful UV rays and keep your skin moisturized at the same time!

The Best Of Homemade Beauty

You know that thing we say in fashion “never leave home without it“? Well for these handy dandy beauty products, you don’t have to leave home for it! Gone are the days when we are spending insane amounts of money and falling victim to late night paid programming to find beauty products that work for us. Go in your kitchen and bathroom cabinets and get the fix you need:

1. Toothpaste

Yellow nails are often a major beauty problem for us ladies. Whenever I have that issue I scour the world for really good nail polish remover or acetone, no such luck! If you have that issue, scrub them with toothpaste to remove stains and add shine. You can also add a few drops of lemon juice for extra whitening; it’s a natural bleaching agent.

2. Eggs

Weak hair be gone! Strengthen you’re hair with an egg yolk and olive oil hair mask. The protein in the egg yolk works to toughen up your hair, while the olive oil conditions. Voila!

3. Tissue

Who said you need oil blotting sheets? Go in you’re bathroom and roll off a few sheets to carry with you! Use it to blot excess oil from your T-Zone.

4. Honey

If your skin is sensitive and blotchy, apply a couple tablespoons of honey to your face and leave on for five to 10 minutes. The honey will moisturize, soothe, and help kill blemish-causing bacteria

5. Vaseline

About 65% of women spend the majority of their time in heels. This ones for you! Before slipping on those fabulous new (but painful) stiletto’s, apply some petroleum jelly to problem areas to avoid blisters. Don’t ruin that fab pedicure with a bad blister!

Another use: apply around the cuticles before you polish your toes/nails, so if you make a mistake you can easily wipe it off!

6. Scotch tape

Remove dry skin from your lips by pressing the sticky side on it and pulling it off. But no worries, its tape not wax, it won’t hurt! Or you can put a piece over your nail to see what a nail polish color will look like.

7. Cooking spray

Instead of the usual Sally Hansen quick dry oil, you can borrow this from your kitchen cabinet and spray onto your nails after a fresh coat for a quick fix.

8. Vinegar

Perhaps one of the most powerful natural cleanser and bleach, vinegar can reduce the blueness of a bruise. It can also be used in your bath to avoid yeast infections. And if you’re cleaning, sprinkle this in your tub after a good rub a dub dub to keeps the stains and soap scum away longer. I use it all the time after I clean my tub!

9. Hair conditioner

When you’re out of shaving cream, hair conditioner can provide a smooth, slick barrier between your razor and sensitive skin. It naturally conditions and will reduce or even eliminate after shave irritation. I’m in!

Ladies, don’t be fooled by new products popping up promising to be a quick and convenient fix to your problem. Simple go into your kitchen or bathroom cabinet and get the real fix you need without having to spend a dime, or having to drive all the way to Target!

It’s summer time, that bang you cut for the winter is starting to make your forehead sweat, and you’re being bombarded with all these images of short hair. So what to do now? TAKE IT OFF! Everyone from Rihanna, to Cassie, to Keri Hilson, to LaLa has done it– so why not take inspiration from them:

Ever since Cassie cut her hair and debut the look on Twitter, the blogs, fans & her peers alike went crazy! Some people loved it and thought she was brave for going all out like that, while some people thought it was tacky, a cry for attention & a strategy to garner more publicity. Whatever they thought, it kept people talking! Even LaLa decided to hop on the bandwagon and “do the Cassie”

To carry off a half shaved head, you have to 1. be bold & brave, 2. not give a f*#% about what any one has to say, and 3. have lots and lots of swag! If you have all 3, or at least 2 out of the 3– I say go for it! It’s a dope, bold look that is sure to make a statement. So let go of that fear of freshness & get with it!

The high hair is NOT one of my favorite’s, but hey. When I first saw this style on Rihanna, I tagged it as “a permed high top fade”. The high style exaggerates the shaved sides, offering an extreme contrast that only Little Miss Sunshine could pull off. While I didn’t like it first, as usual, it grew on me, and I would recommend this style for summer. But proceed with caution, this style is not for the swagless. Check out how Rihanna switched this style up and added shape to her fade for the recent Carol’s Daughter event out here in NYC:

My favorite look of them all! Keri Hilson has one of the best hair games in the game, but it seems nobody notices. Her look in 944 magazine is one of the best options for summer time! It’s casual, it’s dressy. It’s classy, it’s funky. It’s straight, it’s curly. It’s blonde, it’s black. And that’s the beauty of it! It can be all of these things. It’s versatile. It’s fun & ready for summer time! Print this pic, and take it to your hair dresser, then come back and tell me how it goes!

Halle Berry has done it all. Short, long, dark, light, she’s never afraid to go there. She is one of the few people that understands: hair is hair, and it will grow back! For this season, Halle has went with the Pixie cut. This look is very classy, sophisticated, grown & sexy. It’s not edgy, it’s not fierce, it’s not funky– it’s simple & chic. I recommend this look for the blue collar worker, a mother, a wife(?). This look is made for the on-the-go woman. It’s simple, easy to maintain and doesn’t require much prep & styling. PERFECT. So, as Hurricane Chris said, do the Halle Berry [Halle Berry]…

And how could I forget? The baddest, bald Blondie to come out of Philly since Eve, Amber Rose, made baldies hot again. I’m not saying she was the first to do it (remember Britney Spears back in ‘07?), but she definitely brought it BACK! And to finish off this post, with the four hottest, most talked about, and most fabulous short styles for the summer, I had to end it with this. The baldy is the sickest, scariest, dopest, way to go. Try at your own risk.

So here you are looking at these styles and admiring, thinking about taking it off. But, there’s one thing. You’re scared! I say suck it up. It’s hair, it will grow back. The biggest misconception about going short, is that there isn’t much to do with it. LIES! Short hair offers just as much options as long, if not more. The only thing that you can do with long hair that you can’t do with short, is put it in a ponytail. You can perm it, curl it, babe, watch it, turn it, leave it, stop, format it. So, it can grow back (faster than ever!), you can switch up styles, and it’s perfect for the season. Now, what excuse do you have left? TAKE IT OFF! I did, and I LOVE it!

Spotted: Rihanna & Lebron James Visit the Spa

Rihanna was spotted at Carol’s Daughter Hand and Foot Spa looking fabulous as always. Rihanna has been in NY for a while now, I wonder if she is officially a New Yorker now? Lebron James was also spotted there as well, maybe he got himself a nice foot massage.

Mac Releases New Warrior Make Up

Jay-Z Makes Money With Kanye and Rihanna

Jay-Z has partnered with Parlux Fragrances to launch perfumes from him, a mystery female singer, Kanye West and Rihanna. In 2010 Kanye West and Rihanna perfumes will debut and in 2011 Jay-Z’s and the “mystery singer” perfumes will launch. Jay-Z had this to say

“We are excited for the opportunity to partner with Parlux and their management team in the launch of these dynamic new brands,” .

Parlux’s CEO Neil Katz had this to say:

“We are extremely excited to begin work on our projects with Rihanna and Kanye West. Each is an extremely highly regarded celebrity at the top of his or her profession who is undoubtedly going to make an indelible impression in the fragrance industry, just as each has done in the entertainment world.”

I still wonder who this mystery female singer is. Any suggestions?
