Fabolous celebrated his birthday party last night at NYC’s Hotel Rivington, and hip hop’s elite was in attendance. Diddy stopped by to wish Fab a happy birthday, and Jay-Z did as well!

Racism Suit Filed Against Greenhouse Nightclub

It looks as though someone is finally speaking out against the racism that a lot of high profile NYC nightclubs serve up to African American patrons. According to the NYPost:

A $1 billion class-action suit has been filed against a SoHo nightclub that allegedly turned guests away from a book party because they’re black.

In papers filed in Bronx Supreme Court, Kashan Robinson — who is from The Bronx — and Maria Sicard say they were two of about 100 people who were denied entry to a Teri Woods book party at Greenhouse because of their race.

Robinson, Sicard and others on the guest list were kept waiting outside the Varick Street nightspot while white patrons were “allowed entry into the un-crowded club,” the suit claims.

“As far as I know, everyone who was on [Woods'] guest list was not allowed in,” said their lawyer, John Nonnenmacher.

The suit says club officials had agreed to host the party for the author of “True to the Game,” but got cold feet when most of her guests turned out to be African-American.

Crazy. We were just at Greenhouse the other night for a listening party. We’ve never experienced racism there before, unlike at some other clubs, but this definitely isn’t surprising.

Nas and Kelis Spotted at Marquee…TOGETHER?!

So we heard through the grapevine, (also known as Necole Bitchie) that Nas and Kelis were spotted at popular Chelsea nightclub, Marquee the other day celebrating Nas’ birthday. That may not seem like news, but they were actually spotted TOGETHER all smiles. The pic above proves it.

Are they really back together? Who knows…but they seem to at least be cordial. This is definitely making progress from last month, when Kelis was trying to take the man for everything he has. (Nas currently has to pay her over 50k a month in child support). We hope that they’ve resolved their differences and can enjoy their beautiful new born baby together.

Last night, ATF attended the birthday celebration of celebrity blogger & ATF friend, Necole Bitchie , at Taj Nightclub and Lounge. When we say everyone came through to show Miss. Bitchie some love, that would seriously be an understatement, and we were happy to see Necole doing the damn thing! Spotted in the building were rappers Wale and Maino, Day26, Dawn Richard, Teyana Taylor, Chris Lighty, Audra Simmons from Rich Girl, The Retro Kidz, the cast of Harlem Heights, Miss Info, Angela Yee, and more. Some of our favorite fellow New York bloggers also came out, including Lex Ave, Low Key and Andreas from BET, ItstheReal, Blogxilla, Cocoa and our boys over at Stuff Fly People Like and Harry from Jump Off TV.

Necole looked great with her pink “Bitchie” t-shirt, and the party was dope. DJ D-Nice was spinning, and he had the entire club on their feet. We don’t remember much, because the drinks were flowing, but we do remember lots of camera flashes going off, and everyone dancing like there was no tomorrow. We even started circling around to watch some spicy female VOGUE, when D-Nice played Chelley’s “I Took The Night”. Yes, there was a lot going on.

Mr. Hudson’s 1st NYC Performance: Is He Worth the Hype?

There was so much going on last night in NYC, we could barely keep up! One of the notable highlights was Kanye West’s protege, Mr. Hudson (You may remember him from the song “Paranoid” off of 808s & Heartbreak) performing for the first time in NYC. Check out video footage of him perfoming his hit “Supernova” below. Not bad, if we do say so ourselves! We look forward to seeing more.

Spotted: Rihanna’s Michael Jackson Tribute

Rihanna didn’t get a chance to make it to the BET Awards (For what reason, we don’t know), but this may just be her way of paying her tribute to Michael Jackson.

She stepped out on the town last night, and it looks like she is starting to call NYC home while working on her latest studio album. She was also recently spotted hanging out with fellow fashion maven Santigold. We would love to see a collabo from these two, and that would be a great direction for her.

The two young stars got their grub on @ Philippe Chow in the Upper East Side, and they looked very cute and casual, which is excellent for a girlfriend lunch date. Check out pics of the two after the jump.

Beyonce’s Reps Speak Out on M2’s Cancellation Claims

Beyonce and Jay-Z were spotted on Monday night as they attended The Roots Jam Session at Highline Ballroom. They didn’t perform or host the event, but rather they just stayed low key and behind the scenes.

Regarding the claim that NYC club, M2 (aka Mansion) has put out there saying that Beyonce cancelled a performance at the last minute, her reps are adamantly denying it. Seriously, why would Beyonce perform at a club like M2 when she is performing for the President and packing out stadiums, and arenas?

“Executives at Beyonce’s label Music World/Columbia Records are adamant it is Morrissey’s fault for falsely advertising the show with a performance by the beauty – instead of her sister Solange, who was due to sing at M2.

A company spokesperson says, “Beyonce never had a contract with the club itself and no one in her camp dealt directly with the venue.

“The superstar was never scheduled to perform, but was to serve as a co-host and introduce singer/songwriter Solange’s performance. Patrons were falsely promised a performance by Beyonce.”

Now this makes a lot more sense. The club may just be trying to use her name for press. Who knows…

NYC Club Threatening to Sue Beyonce

Joey Morrissey, the club owner of M2 (aka Mansion, a popular venue in the city where they often host album release parties and other special events) is threatening to sue Beyonce for backing out on a performance. Bey was scheduled to perform tomorrow at M2, but yesterday she pulled out, even though the club had already spent $100,000 preparing for her show.

“To make up for the cancellation, Morrissey says Beyoncé offered to stop by the club “to hang out for an hour” on Sunday. He adds, “I mean, we sold tables for thousands of dollars for the show, and spent $100,000 renting a soundboard and other equipment, as per their stipulations. What good does her showing up for an hour do me? They’ve been totally unwilling to agree to another show.”

As a result, Morrissey says he’s now preparing to file suit against Beyoncé, claiming his place has suffered a “loss of reputation” in addition to the sunk cash. “We had an overwhelming response from our clubgoers, who were lining up to buy tickets and tables. This will come as a great disappointment to all of them,” he claims, adding, “If Beyoncé cancels and doesn’t give us a new date, this hurts our credibility in night life.” ”

Wow, that is just a hot mess. The club date was previously on Beyonce’s site, but has since been taken down. In Bey’s defense, we never even heard anyone talking about this concert and we’re right here in the city, so this is news to us.
