Join Former President Clinton, Actress Garcelle Beauvais, Wyclef and More in the Love ‘N Haiti Movement

A number of celebrities are rallying behind Haiti to help the embattled country win a global competition hosted by BBC World News and Newsweek. Wyclef, actress/model Garcelle Beauvais, Russell Simmons, Free (Power 105 FM), Sha Money, Tony Yayo, DJ Whoo Kid, Mona Scott-Young (Monami Entertainment), actor Jamie Hector and singer Black Dada have signed on as ambassadors for LOVE ‘N HAITI, a recycling project in Port-au-Prince that turns everyday trash into energy. LOVE ‘N HAITI – an initiative also championed by President Bill Clinton – is one of twelve finalists in the BBC’s “World Challenge ’09,” which will award a grant to the finalist with the most online votes. The cash grant will help LOVE ‘N HAITI continue its recycling efforts, which aid in decreasing deforestation, creating jobs, and reducing the incidence of floods.

The City of Miami and Waste Management have launched a voting campaign to support Port-au-Prince, Haiti in the BBC World News’ World Challenge ’09 competition, a contest that awards innovative, grassroots-level projects and small businesses from around the world.

As one of 12 finalists in the competition, Haiti stands to win a grant to further its recycling project LOVE ‘N HAITI, which turns everyday trash into paper charcoal briquettes.

The LOVE ‘N HAITI project benefits Haiti by:

· decreasing deforestation

· creating a cleaner, safer and healthier environment

· creating jobs

· reducing the incidence of floods

“I’m proud to be a part of this campaign, not only because it’s for my people, but because I care about our environment,” says Wyclef. “All it takes is one vote to make a difference. We need everyone to support LOVE N’ HAITI!”

Kind of upset I’m just being put on to this video. As we all know by now, Youtube is filled with tiny gems of supreme wonderment and joy. There was that infamous Keri Hilson video , the dancing ‘Dey Know’ toddler (Aura’s favorite) and who can forget Namate’s Treasure In You? ATF’s Tini introduced me to that hunk of a musical sensation not too long ago. Thanks to her, I now sing the damn song daily. The video above has got to be one of the most hilarious parody videos to date so for those of you who haven’t seen it, here you go.

Mrs. Michelle Obama on what being First Lady means to her:

I don’t have a full-time job, although I work very hard in the role of First Lady. But I have a lot of resources. So I have been able to achieve the balance because I have the support I need.”

Now this is just too much for me to take. When I traveled over to my friend Ray’s blog I saw this hot mess. Obama is the president of the United States, he is not a porn star or a sex idol. Who ever came up with this whole Obama dildo thing needs some help. Obama: Our 44th President

Chills ran through my body when I heard the announcement that Barack Obama is our 44th President. Through tears, I watched on television as people all around the world hollered with excitement. Unbelieveable, just 40 years ago African-Americans were fighting for rights and integration in schools and jobs, & now our leader is an African-American man. At approximately 11:00pm eastern time, McCain called Barack Obama to offer his congratulations, and with class Obama responded

with thanks to McCain’s class and honor during the campaign, and mentioned that he can’t wait for the two of them to eventually work together. (SOURCE).
