Confirmed: Kandi’s (HOA) Ex-fiance, A.J. Killed

Last night around 11pm on twitter, people were stating that A.J. Jewell, ex-fiance of Kandi Burress from Housewives of Atlanta, was killed outside of a club in Atlanta. Others were saying that this was simply a rumor, and although someone had been killed in a fight, it wasn’t A.J.

This morning, many sources like NY Daily News confirmed the death of A.J, who leaves 6 children behind. A.J suffered injuries from a blow to the head during a one on one fight outside of his strip club in Atlanta. This is very sad and we ask you all to pray for Kandi and his family.

Kandi reached out on twitter and said:

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their prayers. I gotta get up and go to my uncle’s funeral. I could never in a million years imagine this happening. Please pray for AJ’s children. That’s who I’m the most concerned for. I’m just in one of those moods where I don’t wannna talk. I don’t wanna be held and told it’s gonna be okay. I just wanna cry myself 2 sleep, alone.

R.I.P A.J, and our prayers are with Kandi and the family.

DJ AM Found Dead in Manhattan Apartment

Earlier this afternoon, DJ AM was found dead in his Manhattan apartment. The cause of death is unknown, but the NY Post is reporting that drug paraphernalia was found on the scene. Above is DJ AM’s last Twitter, dated last Tuesday, quoting Grandmaster Flash: “New York, New York, Big city of dreams, but everything in New York ain’t always what it seems.”

Ain’t that the truth.

Back in September, 2008, AM and his pal, Travis Barker, were involved in a fatal plane crash that killed four people. R.I.P.

Remembering Aaliyah…

MTV News posted a nice dedication piece to Aaliyah this morning, showing an interview in which she says how she would have liked to be remembered. It seems as though it was only yesterday when she was making hits and we were all practicing the dance steps from her music videos in our mirrors.

MTA To Name Station after Michael Jackson

..Or maybe not.

The MTA has denied City Councilwoman Letitia Jame’s request to rename or co-name the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station in Brooklyn (where MJ filmed Beat It in the ’80’s) in Jackson’s honor. According to the NY POST, James (D-Brooklyn) said Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials even told her to “beat it,” when she asked to hang a plaque at the station in honor of the late King of Pop. Fortunately, James is NOT giving up.

In other MJ news, we’ve all been hearing about this MJ Block party organized by Spike Lee for Michael’s 51st Birthdaywhich is supposed to be next Saturday in Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn. But The Local reports they’re looking to cancel the event. “The mayor’s office has conceded that now that this has been publicized, Fort Greene Park is just not big enough to accommodate the kind of crowds that are foreseeable.”

We believe the event will still be going on, but most likely in a different location and will probably be a private affair. We want our invite!

Notorious B.I.G.’s daughter T’yanna Wallace celebrated her Sweet Sixteen this past weekend at Taj. She honored her late father at her party by having a pin of his face on her dress over her heart.

According to the NYDailyNews.com, the party theme was candy. She skipped down the red carpet to “Candy Girl” by New Edition in her hot pink dress filled with candy on it and matching Nike sneakers (real cute). Its Friday and we would like to give you some of our favorite videos and new music that hit the internet this week. From Whitney Houston to Maxwell... it’s definitely been all about R&B.

Maxwell has been driving the ladies nuts with the sensual, soothing singles he’s dropped and this sexy grown-man look he has going on. This week “Bad Habit” was released that shows Maxwell cheating on his girl with the beautiful, Kerry Washington. Maxwell is releasing that “Grown Folk Music” you can’t help but enjoy .

We know that everyone remembers Aubrey O’Day from Danity Kane. Well it was rumored that she was going to leave music alone, but she shut that down quick. Aubrey O’Day has released a song featuring Shanell aka SNL from Young Money, who is also D.Woods sister. They made a remake of Eddie Murphy’s hit “Party All The Time“, but they added their own little twist..

Swizz Beatz & Alicia Keys teamed up to produce and write the lyrics to Whitney Houston’s uptempo track, “Million Dollar Bill“. Watch out for these two, we are guessing that Swizz Beatz and Keys are definitely the next power couple with many more hits to come.

“Million Dollar Bill” will be featured on Houston’s long-awaited comeback album, I Look To You, available next month.

This girl group is really pushing out music left and right. RichGirl is the group put together by producer Rich Harrison, that is currently opening for Beyonce. That tour is giving them a lot of buzz.

A track from their upcoming album entitled “Lucky You Are” just leaked. It’s a great ballad, that shows off their vocal talents. RichGirl will continually remind us of the classic Destiny’s Child.

We were extremely thrilled to hear that Baatin rejoined Slum Village a couple of months ago–with plans of recording a new album and touring. The hip-hop community definitely took a hit last week when it was learned that Baatin was found dead–the cause of death still unknown. Baatin had been sick for a while, in 2002 he admited that he was diagnosed with Schizophrenia.

As mentioned, we were anticipating Slum Village’s comeback and we’ve had this track, “Cloud 9″ produced by the late Dilla, on rotation in the Ipod.

It boggles our mind to imagine how much the Jackson’s are racking in after the MJ’s death. Word has it that a concert film of Michael Jackson’s final rehearsals will open in theater on October 3rd. The price? Well, $60 million, above initial projections reported elsewhere.

We had a feeling LaToya Jackson was going to have something to say about Michael Jackson sooner or later. LaToya recently sat down with UK media outlet to express her feelings about MJ’s death. It seem as though people are always quick to point a finger at others. But we refuse to throw mud on the Michael Jackson’s legacy, we will let you draw your own opinion…Check out what LaToya had to say and some throwback photos of the pair after the jump…

“I believe Michael was murdered. I felt that from the start. Not just one person was involved, rather it was a conspiracy of people. He was surrounded by a bad circle. Michael was a very meek, quiet, loving person. People took advantage of that. People fought to be close to him, people who weren’t always on his side. He was worth more dead than alive. They got him hooked on drugs. He was pure and clean and then drugs came back into his system. I think it shocked his system so much it killed him. He had needle marks on his neck and on his arms and more about those will emerge in the next few weeks. I cannot discuss that any further as I may jeopardize the investigation. I can, however, say that I have not changed my mind about my feeling that Michael was murdered. It will all come out. You will be shocked.”

For everyone that could not take today off of work to watch Michael Jackson’s funeral on TV, we got the websites for you to check out live streaming of this historical memorial service. Michael Jackson’s funeral is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. For all of our NY readers, the funeral starts at 12pm. Preferred sites to watch live streaming are, CNN.com, ABC, & Fox. There will be a lot of faulty sites out there, but those three are the most trustworthy. We will definitely be tuning in.
