The annual Fashion Rocks! benefit concert will be held this year at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. There are several HUGE stars that will be headlining, including Beyonce, Chris Brown, Mariah Carey and Rihanna. I’m excited! This show is always huge, with great celebrity appearances.

 On Wednesday, July 23rd at 2pm Nas will be joining ColorOfChange.org and MoveOn.org activists in protesting outside of Fox’s Manhattan offices for thier racist attacks against Black Americans. They will be delivering a 600,000 name petition to the studios. Here is what RollingStones.com is reporting:

 Among the memorable comments Fox allegedly made about Obama is an incident where they called the Democratic candidate’s wife “Obama’s Baby Mama,” “confused” Obama with Osama and called a loving fist bump between Barack and Michelle a “terrorist fist jab.” Then there’s the always-quotable host Bill O’Reilly, who said a “lynching party” had to be deployed to deal with Michelle Obama. “Fox poisons the country with racist propaganda and tries to call it news,” Nas diplomatically said in a statement. Nas and reps from the two groups will deliver the petition to FOX’s studios tomorrow at 2pm EST.

Now, the video is fab, because Rihanna can almost do no wrong. However, we’re not fans of the song. Just like the homie, Lexie, I almost like her better when she was Pon de Replaying and chatting and whatnot. This is a bit too edgy for my taste, but kudos to her and her team for being creative and keeping it fresh! Keep it comin’ Rih!

New Yorkers are fuming right now. The MTA fares are rising—yet again! The MTA Tuesday will propose another fare and toll hike - even as official data show subway service continuing to deteriorate. A 25 year old college student working a summer job as a messenger, said he might have to move. “At the rate it’s going, I won’t be here next year,” Graves said. “Everything goes up … except the minimum wage.”

Me, personally, I’m not shocked that they would rise the prices. This is NY, and it’s getting harder and harder to live in this city! The MTA sucks, it’s overcrowded, and the trains are always delayed. But they don’t care. Five years from now we’re probably going to be paying 4 dollars one way! Read more on this (more…)

Finally, after four years since the Janet Jackson titty incident during the superbowl, The three-judge panel of the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the Federal Communications Commissions ”acted arbitrarily and capriciously” in issuing the fine for the fleeting image of nudity. There was a $550,000 fine against CBS that was thrown out yesterday.

The court found that the FCC fine for the “broadcast of a nine-sixteenths of one second glimpse of a bare female breast” deviated from its nearly 30-year practice of fining broadcast indecency only when it was extremely “pervasive.”
