Last week, H&M threw an intimate party at Bobo to celebrate the launch of Sonia Rykiel’s H&M Spring 2010 collection, and supermodel, Chanel Iman, was spotted at the scene. She even hopped on the 1s and 2s! Who knew supermodels could DJ?

Below is a pic of a few pieces from the new collection.

Casting Call: BET’s Rip the Runway 2010

All of you aspiring models out there, BET is now casting for this year’s Rip the Runway! Enter now to walk the catwalk in BET Network’s music-meets-fashion extravaganza.

RIP THE RUNWAY Model Requirements below:

Applicants must be 18 years or older to participate in the casting.

Female: At least 5′8″, sizes 2-6. Plus size models sizes 10-22 (Must be height and weight proportionate).

Male: At least 6′0″, slim to athletic build.

All ethnicities are welcome.

Models must be comfortable with dancing on the runway.

In order to be considered, please submit the following via email to RTR2010@BET.NET:

• 2 or 3 recent photos (professional preferred) or comp card.

• If emailing pictures, please include the following: height, weight, age.

• Please note whether you are an amateur or a professional model.

• If you are represented by an agency, please specify the name of said agency.

• The subject title of the email should read: “[Your Legal Name and Present location]“

If we determine that you meet the initial criteria for this show, you will receive an invitation via email to attend the final casting call in New York City.

Earlier this week, Fantasia appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show to discuss her new reality show, her financial and family issues, and more. She also touched on why she missed so many shows during her Color Purple stint. We have been following Fantasia since she was on Idol, and we adore her. She just comes off so strong and real, and that’s a fab female for ya!

“I have to be in control of it all, I’m glad that I went through it because now it has made me stronger and wiser, and I know that I can’t allow people to just take control of my destiny.”

Fantasia also took the Oprah stage to perform her latest single, “Even Angels“. We aren’t too fond of the song, but who doesn’t like to hear an inspirational tune every now and then. We would actually love to hear a gospel album from her, as she shuts BET’s Gospel Celebration down each year.

Naomi Campbell is probably on everyone’s list of favorite fashion models, and is just everything a model should be and more. The 39-year old supermodel has graced the covers of every magazine on newsstands today, and is now gracing the cover of LOVE magazine, on their fashion icon issue.

This woman gets better with age, and we ain’t mad at her! Naomi’s careers has spanned almost three decades, she is one of the only models of her generations still booking major campaigns. This cover is simply flawless!

Beyonce “Heats” Up New York

Beyonce has been going hard ALL over New York promoting her new fragrance Heat. Earlier this week, she appeared in Union Square, and last night she made an appearance at Macy’s Herald Square.

Here is what Beyonce had to had say about her new fragrance:

I wanted it to be original and I didn’t want it to be like all the other celebrity
brands.” explained Knowles. “It’s been two years in the making. Every little detail is very personal, so I’m extremely proud.”

My first memory of fragrance is my mother, and as a very young girl, hearing her footsteps…her stilettos click, click, clicking on the hardwood floor and she wore a beautiful fragrance and she would walk past me and it would just stay in the room. It left a warm feeling every time I thought about her scent.

Beyoncé Heat starts at $49 at Macy’s.

Bey is definitely one of, if not THE, hardest working woman in entertainment right now, and apparently funny talk show host, Chelsea Handler (of Chelsea Lately) thinks she should go sit down and take a break. Last night on her show, she went IN on Beyonce and her appearance at the Grammys:

I was enjoying the show until Beyonce stomped her way onto the stage like a Clydesdale and did this *shows clip of Beyonce grabbing her crotch* Why you grabbing between your legs Kitty Kat? I thought all of your junk was in your trunk. It’s pretty inappropriate. This is a Family show and wherever they are, the two kids I gave up for adoption should not be seeing that.

So Listen up Badonkabonk, NOt to long ago you made a public statement that you were going to take some time off. What happened? You don’t think I can recognize you just because for once you are not wearing a unitard. Kanye West may be a jack ass but atleast when he said he was going away he did, unlike you, he’s a douchbag of his own word.

Damon Dash Ventures Into Art

Damon Dash will take on a new business venture by opening up an Art gallery on February 19th in Dash’s DD172 building, in the Tribeca area. Contemporary artist such as Bobby Castaneda, Jeremy Wagner, Heather Gargon and Hector Ruiz will be featured in this gallery as well. He had this to say to MTV in November:

“I’ve always loved art and wanted to get involved in it, I’m always trying to do different new things and things that don’t define what the perception of a hip-hop cat is. We don’t only do the things they perceive us to do. We’re pretty sophisticated.”

No matter what anyone says, Dame is not going away anytime soon. He’s a smart guy, and he may just be back on top again.

Diddy Wants To Open Up NYC Business Academy

Diddy recently claimed on Anderson Cooper’s CNN show, “AC 360″ that he would like to open up a business school in NYC. He said that he would take his skills from his own experience and teach them to other young entrepreneurs. Clearly, he does qualify because he has his own restaurant chain, Justins, is a brand ambassador for Ciroc Vodka, a clothing line Sean John, a marketing firm, Blue Flame Entertainment and of course label Bad Boy Records. He had this to say:

“It’s more than just about business, there’s more that I’m supposed to do, there’s more that I’m gonna do. I want to have an academy that’s known for building leaders. I feel that’s one of the things I can have an impact on.”

Rihanna Speaks on Jay-Z, Kanye West, & Ke$ha

Rihanna just can’t stop talking about other artists. (Dont you have an album to promote, Boo?) She recently made a stop over at DJ Skee’s KIIS FM radio show, and discussed working with Jay-Z & Kanye West on their Grammy Award winning track “Run This Town“. Dj Skee also put her on the spot by asking “Who is the best MC out the two?”

I think it goes hands down to Jay-Z. He’s like the king, it doesn’t get better than that, but Kanye is also one of my favorite rappers.

She also mentioned fellow “alternative/commercial” artist Ke$ha by saying

I think she’s the new It girl in the industry.

That was a very mature statement. Pass the torch Riri! If “Rude Boy” doesn’t do good on these charts your “It Girl” status may be forever revoked.
