Recap: Alicia Keys, Robin Thicke and Melanie Fiona Concert at MSG

Last night, the Alicia Keys tour stopped in New York at Madison Square Garden, and I got to enjoy performances from her, Robin Thicke, Melanie Fiona, and some special surprise guests. Check out the recap when you continue reading.

Rising star, Melanie Fiona kicked things off with her soulful voice and contagious energy. The last time that we saw Mel perform was at the small, yet popular, venue SOBs, so its really amazing to see how much she has progressed since then. She performed her hits, “Ayo”, “Give it to Me Right”, “Monday Morning”, and of course, closed out with her #1 single “It Kills Me”. In between she also completely tore up a rendition of Chaka Khan’s “Sweet Thing”. Good job, Mel!

Next up, was Robin Thicke.

This was my first time seeing Robin Thicke perform, and he didn’t disappoint. He didn’t bring out any special guests, however he did perform his collabos such as “Shooters” (minus Lil’ Wayne) and “Shakin’ it for Daddy” (minus Nicki Minaj). The highlight of his performance was definitely his dance moves, as this white boy can not dance to save his life! He was trying though He also performed his hit song “Lost Without You”, which was most definitely the crowd favorite, and ended his set with a tribute to Lil’ Wayne by playing and rapping to “A-milli”.

Lastly, Alicia Keys came out and tore it down! I’ve seen Alicia Keys perform live before when she was on tour with Beyonce and Missy Elliott back in the day, and she surprises me every time. Looking at her, you wouldn’t think that she could dance, but that girl can really move! I was shocked.

She entered the stage in a cage singing a song that I’m not familiar with (I don’t have her new album, sorry), but her vocals were flawless. At this point, I was pretty tipsy so, to be honest, I can’t remember EVERY single detail about her performance, but I do remember that she definitely had the crowd on their feet for the majority of it. Not only that, she surprised the crowd brought out the one and only Beyonce, to perform “Put it on a Love Song” off of her new album, and the crowd went bananas! Check out the footage below:

Their choreography was a bit “interesting”, but I LOVED it all the same.

Lastly, A. Keys closed the show out with the surprise guest that we were all hoping for, Jay-Z, and they shut MSG down with “Empire State of Mind”. Classic!

This was an amazing show, and I’m glad I got a chance to see it in person. A. Keys did not disappoint!

New Video: Lady GaGa & Beyonce – Telephone

The wait is over! Lady GaGa & Beyonce video for “Telephone” has finally premiered, and is video is visually amazing from start to finish. The theme of the video was a play off of Quentin Tarantino’s popular film Kill Bill, and Tarantino even lent Gaga his infamous “Pussy Wagon” for the cause. Love it! Singer/Actor, Tyrese, makes a cameo as well.

The dance break at the end inside the diner is hands down the best part. The dance moves were very Lady Gaga, unlike the “Video Phone” dance break. We hope you enjoy the video has much as we did.

“See, I told you she didn’t have a f***ing dick”. *Dead* There goes the hermaphrodite rumors.

Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” Video to Debut This Thursday (Its About Time!)

Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” video featuring Beyonce will FINALLY premiere on E! News this Thursday at 11:30pm ET.

After the premiere, Gaga will dissect the inspiration behind “Telephone” and explain how she has been able to out-do herself yet again exclusively to Ryan Seacrest. The video will make its online debut at midnight that evening on VEVO.com and LadyGaga.com.

Lady Gaga has said that the video for “Telephone” picks up where “Paparazzi” left off but will surpass its predecessor. Gaga’s on-screen chemistry with Beyoncé transforms the song from a popular dance floor gem to a raw and explosive piece of art to be reckoned with.

Its about damn time! This video was shot a few months ago. Why hasn’t it come out yet? We are waiting!

Beyonce Named an Official Brooklynite

Yes, you heard right. The pop diva, who originally hails from Houston, Texas, was officially made an honorary “Brooklyn-ite” last week by the borough’s president while she was there for the official opening for her new cosmetology center at The Phoenix House. Beyonce first spent time at the Phoenix House when preparing for the role of Etta James in the 2008 film, “Cadillac Records.” and her new seven-month training program will prepare women coming out of drug and alcohol rehab for the state cosmetology licensure exam.

Bey said that her decision to fund a beauty school was inspired by growing up in her mom’s salon:

I saw that a salon was a place for women to socialize, share stories, cry, laugh and get advice. Most importantly, I saw the joy it brought my mother, knowing she was a part of their transformation.

Borough President Marty Markowitz said Beyonce is a Brooklynite by marriage and by moxie, being that her hubby, Jay-Z of course is from Brooklyn.

“After the Show Its the After Party” Jay-Z and Friends Party at 40/40

After his concert at Madison Square Garden last night, Jay-Z and friends stopped by the 40/40 club for his official after-party. (How appropriate). He was joined by the likes of Drake, Lebron James, wifey Beyonce, Michelle Williams, and more.

No, Lil’ Wayne did not join the festivities, but we’re sure the groupies were flocking!

Jay-Z Will Make A Video For “Venus vs. Mars”

In the short clip below, Jay-Z speaks to an MTV News reporter about wanting to shoot a video for “Venus Vs. Mars,” our hands down favorite off “The Blueprint 3.” He talks about having a crazy concept for the video and also says he wants to continue his trend of shooting two videos at once. (Guess he is taking a page out of Beyonce’s book.) “A Star Is Born” which features upcoming rapper J. Cole is Jay’s other choice as a single.

Now if Jay’s going to shoot a video for “Venus Vs. Mars,” We hope he uses the version with Bey’s vocals. We just wanna see her make a cameo. Do you fab folks think these are good choices for singles?

Beyonce made a guest appearance on The Trya Show yesterday, much to Trya’s own excitement. Tyra is such a Beyonce stan! They talked about everything from Bey’s husky voice, her 6x Grammy Award win, new fragrance, Jay Z, Michael Jackson and his children, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and the “Video Phone” and “Telephone” experiences, working with Alicia Keys in Brazil for the video to “Put It In A Love Song”. Basically everything Beyonce has going on.

People really aren’t giving up to Beyonce for breaking that Grammy record. She has won more than any other female artist in one night. That is amazing and she should be applauded. But when is Beyonce’s break suppose to start?

Alicia Keys and Beyonce are in Brazil right now shooting the video to “Put It In A Love Song,” the third single off A. Keys’ latest project, “The Element Of Freedom.” This is one of our favorite songs on the radio right now. The song just makes you wanna drop to floor and put your hand in the air

Since Beyonce was doing a couple shows down in South America, they decided to shoot the video down there. That is probably a perfect location for this video.

We are hyped now!

Beyonce “Heats” Up New York

Beyonce has been going hard ALL over New York promoting her new fragrance Heat. Earlier this week, she appeared in Union Square, and last night she made an appearance at Macy’s Herald Square.

Here is what Beyonce had to had say about her new fragrance:

I wanted it to be original and I didn’t want it to be like all the other celebrity
brands.” explained Knowles. “It’s been two years in the making. Every little detail is very personal, so I’m extremely proud.”

My first memory of fragrance is my mother, and as a very young girl, hearing her footsteps…her stilettos click, click, clicking on the hardwood floor and she wore a beautiful fragrance and she would walk past me and it would just stay in the room. It left a warm feeling every time I thought about her scent.

Beyoncé Heat starts at $49 at Macy’s.

Bey is definitely one of, if not THE, hardest working woman in entertainment right now, and apparently funny talk show host, Chelsea Handler (of Chelsea Lately) thinks she should go sit down and take a break. Last night on her show, she went IN on Beyonce and her appearance at the Grammys:

I was enjoying the show until Beyonce stomped her way onto the stage like a Clydesdale and did this *shows clip of Beyonce grabbing her crotch* Why you grabbing between your legs Kitty Kat? I thought all of your junk was in your trunk. It’s pretty inappropriate. This is a Family show and wherever they are, the two kids I gave up for adoption should not be seeing that.

So Listen up Badonkabonk, NOt to long ago you made a public statement that you were going to take some time off. What happened? You don’t think I can recognize you just because for once you are not wearing a unitard. Kanye West may be a jack ass but atleast when he said he was going away he did, unlike you, he’s a douchbag of his own word.

Oh, Chelsea. She’s definitely never one to bite her tongue. Check out the video below:

Beyonce HEATS UP Union Square (NYC) TONIGHT at 6pm!

To celebrate the launch of her debut fragrance, Beyoncé Heat, the diva will be appearing in NYC’s Union Square TONIGHT at 6pm ET. She will also be illuminating the central destination of Union Square with fiery red light and smoky fog, which is supposedly supposed to capture the essence of the fragrance (We guess).

So, if you have a spare moment, make sure you stop by Union Square to check out Beyonce in the flesh! The illumination will start at 6pm and go until 12am.

In case you missed it, right before the 52nd Grammy Awards, Beyonce also appeared in an exclusive interview with 60 minutes. The superstar discussed competing with Jay-Z, egos, and her role model Barbara Streisand. The interview was very personal and interesting.
