Events: Necole Bitchie’s Birthday Celebration

Last night, ATF attended the birthday celebration of celebrity blogger & ATF friend, Necole Bitchie , at Taj Nightclub and Lounge. When we say everyone came through to show Miss. Bitchie some love, that would seriously be an understatement, and we were happy to see Necole doing the damn thing! Spotted in the building were rappers Wale and Maino, Day26, Dawn Richard, Teyana Taylor, Chris Lighty, Audra Simmons from Rich Girl, The Retro Kidz, the cast of Harlem Heights, Miss Info, Angela Yee, and more. Some of our favorite fellow New York bloggers also came out, including Lex Ave, Low Key and Andreas from BET, ItstheReal, Blogxilla, Cocoa and our boys over at Stuff Fly People Like and Harry from Jump Off TV.

Necole looked great with her pink “Bitchie” t-shirt, and the party was dope. DJ D-Nice was spinning, and he had the entire club on their feet. We don’t remember much, because the drinks were flowing, but we do remember lots of camera flashes going off, and everyone dancing like there was no tomorrow. We even started circling around to watch some spicy female VOGUE, when D-Nice played Chelley’s “I Took The Night”. Yes, there was a lot going on.

Events: Harlem Heights Screening @ Johnny Utah’s

The other night ATF attended the Harlem Heights Screening @ Johnny Utah’s in NYC. The screening was pretty dope, I ran into a lot of familiar faces. Three of our fab men were in the building, Chavis, Lamar, and Christian. It always good to see the fellas out and about. I didn’t know if I was going to enjoy the show, with so many people around, but watching the cast reactions was actually the best part of the night. You can catch more of the recap after the jumpI have grown to become a fan of the show “Harlem Heights”. Its very interesting to watch them, most likely because I have met most of the cast and always see them out and about at events. This was, hands down, one of the best episodes, as they definitely turned up the drama; however, I am still mad Aura and I didn’t get our camera time during the Open Mic scene. All you fab readers should definitely catch the show Monday nights on BET, as it’s becoming a lot juicer. Brooke & Briana are just bringing it, and they keep me so entertained. Those are some real best-friends, and its definitely not just for TV.

I have to say this, it was so funny seeing how hype Jason got once he heard a Jim Jones record pay up in there. That was truly pure comedy, he is so Harlem. The screening was held at Johnny Utah’s in Midtown. I didn’t know what to expect, but I sure didn’t expect to see a mechanical bull in the center of the bar/restaurant/club, and yes it was all of them in one. It was funny seeing people fall on their face off the bull, especially Pierre. I just knew he was going to get on the damn bull.

Overall it was a pretty good event, and I really enjoyed being around good people and having a good time. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has to bring. I also have to mention Ally Love from the cast performing DIVA in the middle of the VIP, that was priceless. I am going to have to check out Johnny Utah’s again, and try the bull.

Couple Alert: Harlem Heights Edition

Word on the street is that Brooke Jasmyn & Christian of “Harlem Heights” are a couple! I am glad to see that Brooke has bounced back from Kanye West, I guess Christian is her “Knight In Shining Armor”. When I first saw the two together, you could so tell that they had chemistry. I am waiting for the episode when they hook up, that is going to be very interesting. I wonder how Ashlie & Pierre feel about all this? The season is just going to get better from here…Catch Harlem Heights on BET @ 10pm Mondays

BET Launches New Reality Show “Harlem Heights”

Looks like BET is trying to step up their game with the programming. They just introduced a new reality show, “Harlem Heights”, that will be following the lives of several young, gifted and Black 20-somethings living in Harlem USA.

Via the NY Daily News:

“”Harlem Heights,” premiering March 2 on BET, captures the “young, black and fabulous crowd” of one of New York’s most famous neighborhoods.

The cast includes a lifestyle editor for the basketball publication Dime magazine, an aspiring actress, a fashionista, a young man contemplating a career in politics and even a young dad. It’s a group of friends moving out of college and into the working world.”

To those nay-sayers that say that this show is just a copycat of previous Viacom shows such as “The Hills” and “Baldwin Hills”:

“This show isn’t ‘The Hills,’ ” said BET president Loretha Jones. “The cast was friends before, so their relationships are natural and they allowed us to follow them in such a way that they were unconcerned with the cameras being there, and let us capture the real interactions.”

One of our previous Fab Men of the Week, model, Lamar James will be featured on the show as well. Check out his interview HERE in which he briefly mentions it.

Kanye West’s ex-girlfriend, Brooke Crittendon is said to be the narrator, and also one of the cast members. Dare I say, I’m actually excited about this show and am really interested in seeing it plays out.
