Event Recap: Melanie Fiona’s Album Release Party @ The Eldridge

Last night, AllThatsFab was in the building for Melanie Fiona’s “The Bridge” album release party at The Eldridge here in NYC. Hop the velvet rope for exclusive twitpics from inside of the party and more.

We were really happy to support such a true, humble, talented artist such as Melanie Fiona. We’ve been down with her since her first showcase here in NYC, and its great to see her finally release her debut album.

This private event, which was held at The Eldridge, an intimate, exclusive venue, was attended by Melanie’s close family and friends in the industry, label executives, press, and artists alike.

Ray J, who has been in NYC all week, stopped by to show face and support.

And we found Charles Hamilton! He came out of hiding to support as well. Other attendees included Sylvia Rhone, DJ Cassidy, SRC recording artist, O’Neal McKnight, Ty Ty, Daniel Merriweather, and more.

The party was nice, and intimate, and the highlight was Melanie jumping in the DJ booth for a quick impromptu performance and to thank everyone for coming out. However, the venue, The Eldridge wasn’t really an ideal place for such an event. The staff of the lounge was very rude to some of the guests, and several people were left standing outside. Additionally, the drinks were very over priced! ($16 for a vodka and cranberry is a bit of a stretch.)

Overall, it was good times, and we were thankful for the invite and that we were able to attend. We just probably won’t be going to The Eldridge anytime soon.

This is a song I listen to at least once a day. Any track with Cee Lo on it is a hit, in my opinion. Asher’s making music videos left and right, but I’m especially happy he released “Be By Myself” , this is definitely one of my favorite tracks from “Asleep in the Bread Aisle“. Out of the ten “Freshmen” that were featured on XXL a couple months ago (including Kid Cudi, Charles Hamilton, Asher..) who do you guys think is going to make it the furthest?

I am not a huge follower of Charles Hamilton, but A LOT the buzz is crazy about this dude. I do love his Brooklyn Girl song and video. Charles recently released a new video for his track, Loser (I am still wondering when his album will drop!) The video was directed by Travis Satten of XXL Magazine. I love this relationship XXL has with Charles Hamilton, they are really trying to push him out there. You can check the video after the jump..

We missed the opportunity to post a lot of good, lovey dovey new music for Valentine’s Day because our site was down, but we’re playing catch up now. Charles Hamilton just dropped a new project, “Well Isn’t This Awkward“, and he shyly confessed that this was a humble dedication to a special young lady.

Teedra Moses is one of the hottest female R&B artists out right now, and she doesn’t even have a record deal. She has an intense following, and this she definitely deserves it. I love her!

The “Young Lioness” just dropped a new mixtape Lionhearted Vol. 3, and it is definitely worth the download. I love Teedra because her music isn’t the normal “woe is me, he broke my heart, I’m lost without him” B.S. that we get from most female artists.

Charles Hamilton is my new favorite rapper. I got a chance to finally see him live at Amanda Diva’s Spectrum Funk CMJ showcase last week, and he killed it.

He will be dropping a project tomorrow called “The L Word“, and it will be catered to the ladies. You know we’ll be all over it. In his own words, the concept for the project “is him looking for Lady Luck while running into girls, women, bitches and hoes.” Interesting. Check out his new track “Maybelline” and video of his performance at SOBs after the jump!
