The video was shot here in NYC up in Harlem and it co-stars Wale. The young rapper also spit a couple bars at the top of track, which wasn’t on the album.

This duo also has a song called “Shades” off Wale debut album “Attention: Deficit“. These two have a great chemistry together. You better watch ya man Solange.

Sigh…we can’t. We won’t even get into the guys. We’ve had enough of the mess. Let’s just hope the performances were better than the red carpet.

According to Rap Up, the show went down like this.

• The Roots, Eminem, and DJ Jazzy Jeff opened with LL Cool J’s “Rock the Bells.”
• Ja Rule and Ashanti reunited on stage to perform “Down for You” and “Always on Time.”
• DMX collaborated with Gym Class Heroes on his 1999 hit “Party Up.”
• Ludacris and Scarface represented for the South with “Guess Who’s Back” and “Southern Hospitality.”
• Mary J. Blige and Method Man reminisced over “I’ll Be There for You/You’re All I Need to Get By.”
• Dressed as LL Cool J, Rick Ross took the stage to perform “Hustlin’.”
• Trey Songz filled in for Nate Dogg by performing “Regulate” with Warren G.
• Gym Class Heroes, Wale, and KRS-One covered the Beastie Boys’ “No Sleep Till Brooklyn.”
• Foxy Brown and Fabolous closed the show as part of an all-star medley.

This definitely sounds like something that is not to be missed!

Melanie Fiona comes to SOBs for her album preview show, freah off dropping her mixtape, which was hosted by ?uestlove of The Roots. Melanie, the R&B sensation from Canada, was born to to Guyanese immigrant parents and grew-up in the inner city of Toronto. The songtress grew up living in a music-filled household and Melanie says that from an early age she knew music was her passion. Her father was a guitarist in a band and would allow her to sit on the stage when she was younger as he practiced. Fiona also recalls her mother’s wide range of music taste; playing everything from The Ronettes to Whitney Houston in the house when she was younger.

Beyonce has done it again…She has been caught jacking songs once again. This time from Chrisette Michelle & Rico Love..The track “Ego” was originally written for Chrisette Michele, which is a shock to us! We can’tsee her pulling off that record. When Chrisette recieved the track it was never mentioned that Beyonce was one of the writers..But on the album credits Elvis Williams, Beyonce Knowles and Harold Lilly are all named for the writing and producing..

Rico Love and  Beyonce worked together on a couple of tracks in the“I Am…Sasha Fierce” album. Michelle Williams is very close friend of Rico Love, he also helped her with most of her album, Unexpected.  It’s being reported that Rico had this to say about working on I Am…Sasha Fierce..

“I did ‘Radio’ and ‘Scared Of Lonely,’ but I co-wrote ‘Scared Of Lonely’ with Solange, Lashawn Daniels, and Crystile.”

He sure did not mention Beyonce on that little line-up. Beyonce is credited as one of the writers on “Scared of Lonely” You can’t take away the fact that Beyonce is talented, but people aren’t going to hate her if she doesn’t write her own songs. It’s really not a big deal anymore, but it’s so wrong when you take credit for someone else’s hard work. Shame on you Mrs.Carter!

Wow this is music to our ears, Vh1’s Divas is back! If you don’t remember Divas, it’s when all the women of the past, present, and future salute one another. This was always a must-see, you never knew what women were gonna take the stage. It’s such a dope sight to strong talented females being honored for their achievements. But the question is who will take the stage this year? We thought they were done because they ran out of divas. VH1 can’t even answer the question, so they are asking the fan to decide. “We would love for listeners to weigh in on who would make a great Divas participant. What does the term “diva” mean to you in 2009? Someone heroic? Someone inspiring? Last night in NYC, L.A. Reid hosted the annual Island Def Jam’s Spring Collection. This event is held in order to showcase new Def Jam artists and celebrate the achievements of current ones. The party was held at the Stephen Weiss Studio here in New York City. It appears that Rihanna was the star of the night, as she was recently certified 12-times platinum! (And this was the girl people thought was going to be a one-hit wonder.) The room seemed like it was filled with pure excitement and joy, and Rihanna looked amazing as usual. The hair choice is a little different though…we guess it was her version of a “mushroom cut”. You can check out more pics and the Def Jam new signees after the jump..

Chrisette Michele had a somewhat last minute album release party last night at Mansion aka M2, and Ginuwine, Joe and more showed up.  (Speaking of Ginuwine, he’s making a comeback, and we also had a change to go to his listening session as well.  More on that later.)

In case you haven’t heard, Chrisette Michele also beat out Ciara and Hannah Montana to gain the #1 spot on the charts this week for her sophomore album, “Epiphany“!
