Pooch Hall is the man, and he really won everyone over as Derwin Davis on CW’s The Game. He just has this swag and charisma you can’t help but adore. Pooch sat down and spoke with the lovely TV One reporter/stylist Bevy Smith about his role on the upcoming film, Stomp The Yard 2: Homecoming.

The interview is so cute, especially when Pooch starts flirting with Bevy. Who can really blame her for playing along? We can’t wait to see the film, which also stars Columbus Short, Teyana Taylor, Terrance J, and David Banner.

Behind The Scenes: Stomp The Yard 2 – Homecoming

Now we know everyone has seen Stomp The Yard, the flick that brought attention to Columbus Short. The movie also was Chris Brown’s first acting gig. (Columbus is also rumored to be returning. We’ve got our fingers crossed.

The sequel to the hit film, Stomp The Yard 2 : Homecoming, is being shot down in ATL, and this edition stars Pooch Hall (Derwin from The Game), Terrance J, Teyana Taylor, David Banner, Keily Williams of 3LW , and many more.

We are super hype to see the film, it shows HBCU life so well. They are using extras from some of the nearby schools like Clark Atlanta, Spelman, and Morehouse. We are most excited to see Pooch Hall & Teyana Taylor on the big screen, they are really doing their thing on set we hear.

Event Recap: Heineken Red Star Soul Tour ft. Ludacris, Estelle, Wale & Nas

Over the weekend, ATF hit up the Heineken Red Star Show in NYC held @ Gotham Hall. This years headliners were Ludacris, Estelle and newcomer Wale, so you know we were excited. The Heineken sponsored concert brought out the “who’s who” in the media and entertainment world. The concert attendees ranged from Adrienne Bailon and Columbus Short to Tyson Beckford and Mario Lopez.

When we say everyone was there that is truly an understatement. That is what made the event more fun, because during breaks in performance we got the chance to mingle and network with some industry heavy weights.

The first person to hit the stage was DC’s own Wale. Most of the crowd didn’t know who he was but he made sure we would remember when he left that stage.

Wale’s performance was so not the best, he just left us wanting more. We will give him a pass because he is still pretty new to the game, but he better get it together fast. We barely could understand anything that was coming out of this man’s mouth. Check out the video below and you be the judge:

Estelle shut it down! That’s all we can really say about this fabulous female. She made a lot of new fans that night. Estelle is just so raw and uncut when she is on the stage. She just says whatever she wants out her mouth and we love it, and also picked some great songs during her set. At shows like this its best to just do your singles and call it a day. We love Estelle and she kept us entertained the entire time…

Lastly, Ludacris came on the stage and shut it down! He performed all of his hits, past and present, including “What’s Your Fantasy”, “Throw Them Bows” and more. Not only that, the highlight of the night was when he brought Nas on the stage to join him. Of course, you know the crowd went absolutely wild! Check out the footage below, via Defsounds:

Movie Review: Cadillac Records

Last night I finally got the chance to catch Cadillac Records in theaters. Now I didn’t know what to expect from this movie. I love me some biography movies, but it was hard to get into as a biopic because i didn’t know anyone but Etta James and Chuck Berry..The movie was really good in my opinion. You can read more of my review after the jump. Don’t worry I won’t give any parts away…

During the movie some of the parts was actually giving me chills. Jeffrey Wright is one of those under-rated actors. He has performed amazingly in every film he has been in. I still remember him as the bad guy in Shaft..Jeffrey played Muddy Waters one of the founders of Rock n Roll. He played the hell out of that character.I think he was really lip syncing, but he still did a good job. Gabrielle Union played his main girl in the movie. She looked a mess throughout the whole movie. Now matter how much money he made, she never looked any different..

Miss. Beyonce put in down in this movie. She is really growing as an actress. She starred as Etta James, which everyone already knows. Beyonce wasn’t a major part of the movie, but when she did appear on screen she gave it her all. Now when she says she cursed a lot, that’s an understatement. Every word out her mouth was something vulgar. You can tell Beyonce was the executive producer, because her wigs and costumes were always on point. Etta probably never looked that good..The only thing that upset me about Beyonce was the fact that she couldn’t stop crying..

Mos Def was also in the film playing Chuck Berry. Now he made me laugh every time I saw him. Mos Def is a damn good actor. He didn’t have a big part, but he stole the scene whenever he was on camera. Columbus Short was GREAT! Now I didn’t know what to expect from this kid, but he can act. Short played Little Walter. I had no clue who Little Walter was, but I sure did google him when I got home. There would be no Elvis without Little Walter. Elvis was a true swagger jacker, sorry just my opinion.

This movie is a must-see. A lot of people don’t want to see it because of Beyonce, but you so-called music lovers need to learn your history. This movie showcases the root of music. There was actually other artist out there, beside the ones signed to Motown…

The premiere for Cadillac Records went down last night here in NYC, and lots of A-listers were in attendance. The star of the lady of the night, Beyonce Knowles, came out in full effect, and showed off her CRAZY 18 karat diamond ring. Wow!

Remember him from Stomp the Yard? (Love him) Sloan from Entourage was there. Sorry, I like her character, but her real name slips my mind at the moment Kelly Ripa also showed up to the party.

Looks like it was a nice event. I wish someone who send out an alert every time Beyonce comes into town, so we can be prepared! We can’t wait to see the movie.
