Ludacris, Nicki Minaj and More Heat Up BET’s Rip the Runway!

BET’s annual Rip the Runway fashion show went down at The Hammerstein Ballroom last night, with hosts Pooch Hall (”The Game”) and everyone’s favorite new rapstress, Nicki Minaj. The show also featured hot performances by Janelle Monae, Estelle, B.O.B.Soulja Boy and Roscoe Dash, Ludacris and Nicki Minaj and Trina.

Lady GaGa Covers Q Magazine Topless!

Lady Gaga just can’t seem to keep her clothes on in her recent photo shoots. Gaga is featured on the latest issue of British music magazine, Q. On the cover she is topless while rocking a pair of spiked pair of slacks, and in the interview, she discusses her emotional battles with her record label over her individual style.

“The last thing a young woman needs is another picture of a sexy pop star writhing in sand, covered in grease, touching herself. My image was an issue at my record label. I fought for months and cried at meetings. I got criticised for being arrogant because if you’re sure of yourself as a woman they say you’re a bitch whereas if you’re a man and you’re strong-willed it’s normal.”

We gotta agree with GaGa. No matter how crazy this woman is, she is very intelligent and she knows how to pimp this industry. Lady Gaga ain’t going nowhere no time soon.

Last night, models, designers and stars from across the globe participated in “Fashion for Relief”, a fashion show organized by supermodel Naomi Campbell, that benefitted the crisis in Haiti. Celebrities such as Estelle, Chris Brown, supermodel, Sessilee Lopez, Victoria Beckham, Wendy Williams and more were spotted participating in the festivities.

Naomi Campbell is probably on everyone’s list of favorite fashion models, and is just everything a model should be and more. The 39-year old supermodel has graced the covers of every magazine on newsstands today, and is now gracing the cover of LOVE magazine, on their fashion icon issue.

This woman gets better with age, and we ain’t mad at her! Naomi’s careers has spanned almost three decades, she is one of the only models of her generations still booking major campaigns. This cover is simply flawless!

With the weather like it is right now in NYC, boots are clearly the best option for footwear. The latest snow boots to cause a buzz in the industry are these Dior Snow Boots. Priced at $530, these boots are composed of a weather-resistant nylon with rabbit fur pom poms and lining. You know PETA is pissed!

Mariah Carey & Vanessa Hudgens were both spotted out and about wearing the trendy snow boots, but they both rocked them completely different. The question is who is working them the best? Our vote goes to Vanessa.

Fashionista Rihanna is always up on the latest runway trends. Right now in fashion— The bigger the shoulder the better the craze. H&M has even picked up on it with some of their new pieces. (Who would have thought shoulder pads would come back in style.) Alexandre Vauthier is a designer that caught the attention of the songstress, and she won’t let him go.

Rihanna has been seen everywhere rocking pieces from Vautheir latest line. Her stylist, Mariel Haenn, hasn’t been putting her own little spin on it. All the looks were just ripped from the runway. #FAIL

This was a great year, and in New York, that also means that there were a lot of great parties! Here is a re-cap of some of the best events of 2009 (In no particular order):

1.) Belvedere Black Raspberry Launch ft. Estelle and held at a SOHO pop up store:

This event is included because of the atmosphere, the beautiful, fashionable crowd, the complimentary drinks, and fact that Estelle was walking around mingling with the crowd.

We caught up with her during the event and got a quick interview.

With Grey Goose flowing, a fun photo booth provided by Polite in Public, and good people, this event was definitely one to remember.

With Hennessy Black on deck all night, celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Fabolous, and a special performance by Swizz Beatz and the Jabawockeez, this event was easily one of the best of the year.

Our blogger pal, Necole Bitchie, had a celebrity and “web celebrity” filled birthday party at Taj. We danced the night away and got to mingle with some young, bright stars such as Day 26, Teyana Taylor and Mario.

7.) Rocawear 10th Anniversary Party
Jay-Z and Beyonce were among several other celebs such as Melody Thornton (Pussycat Dolls), Derek Blanks (Celebrity Photographer), Actor, Brian White, Laurie Ann Gibson and more, who celebrated 10 years with the Rocawear brand.

8.) Long Live The King! Q-tip’s Tribute to MJ at the Nokia Theatre

Q-Tip, Mark Ronson, and DJ Spinna were on the 1s and 2s for this great Michael Jackson tribute party at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square. Celebs in the building included Solange Knowles, Angie Martinez and more.

Check out singer/songwriter Marsha Ambrosius on stage performing the hit that she wrote for Michael Jackson, “Butterflies”.
