Fab Friday Music Review: R. Kelly, Omarion, Drake

Its Friday and we would like to give you some of our favorite videos and new music that hit the internet this week. From Jay-Z’s long awaited video release, to Young Money’s dropped artist, Omarion, it’s been a good week full of new music.

We revealed to our readers the trailer to “Run This Town” last week and were pretty eager to see the full video.

Word has it Omarion got dropped from Young Money before he could even drop a single. Well, Omarion’s “I Get It In” ft Lil Wayne was leaked earlier this week.

R. Kelly is trying to make a comeback by putting ATL artist Keri Hilson on his single, “Number One.” The video was released earlier this week. R. Kelllyyy babay! (Thumbs DOWN). Keri sounds great on the track though!

We knew Jamie Foxx would be dropping a single with Drake when he was speaking so highly of him after the BET awards this year. Check out Fox’s “Digital Girl” ft. Drake, Kanye West and the Dream:

Jamie Foxx was spotted at Armani Ristorante having a meeting with RCA Group executives. Wonder if they have something in the works? Jamie sure looks very SMOOTH in his two piece suit. In other news, Jamie Foxx is suing Hollywood Club owner for money to cover his attorney fees in a suit against him from the club’s barteneder, who claims he slipped on glass and needed 170 stitches . Jamie is named in the case because he hosted the party. Foxx wants to be indemnify him from the proceedings.

The Apollo Theatre celebrated its 75th Anniversary this past Monday night. Many fabulous A-list celebrities were in attendance for this special occasion, as they reminisced on plenty of memories and experiences that occurred at this legendary venue. The Apollo is not only a staple in African American culture, but of New York City as well.

One of our friends twittered today that Jamie Foxx was on the Ellen DeGeneres show, so I immediately checked online to see if I missed anything out of the ordinary from Jamie Foxx. Of course, he was cracking jokes with Ellen, and he did a live performance of his hit single, “Blame It“. All we can say is, there’s no need for the vocoder for a live performance… :-/. Keri Hilson, Jamie Foxx, Soulja Boy, NERD, Ryan Leslie and The Dream attended the award announcements at the BET studios in NYC yesterday. Beyonce, Rihanna, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne are also on the long list of nominees. Jamie Foxx is all set to host the event which will include performances by Beyonce, Maxwell and Ne-Yo. The BET Awards 2009 airs live from The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on June 28th at 8pm EST/PST. Flicks and the full list of nominees after the jump.

Jamie Foxx to Ed Lover: “I Need a QUIET Woman”

Jamie Foxx recently sat down with the Ed Lover Morning Show and dished about being attacked by a groupie in Philly, and why he is remaining a bachelor. I still can’t believe he got attacked in my hometown, that is just priceless. When Jamie describes his perfect woman it kind of came off self-centered, he needs to watch what he says before he pulls a Yung Berg. I would rather him say some shallow stuff then what he said. He had the nerve to say..in his interview that his perfect woman would have to be quiet!! When he comes home from a long day he likes his woman to be interested in what he has to say, because he is an entertainer, and entertainers take up a lot of room. I knew he probably was just trying to say he wants his woman to be a good listener, but he needed to reword his response.

He also mentioned in his interview about how it was making The Soloist, and how he thought he could possibly go crazy, while playing this role. He had a fear of going crazy when he was younger, because he use to visit mental hospitals when he was a kid.

Jamie Foxx returns to the big screen on April 24th 2009. His new movie, “The Soloist” is based on the true story of musical prodigy Nathaniel Ayers, who developed schizophrenia in his second year at Juliard and ended up homeless on the streets of downtown L.A where he plays his violin and cello. The film explores Ayers’ relationship with Steve Lopez (Robert Downey Jr.), an L.A Times reporter whose column inspired the script. The preview has been said to leave folks with tears in their eyes.

Jamie Foxx single “Blame It” hits the #1 on the R&B Billboard Charts for the second time in a row. The single is featured on his third studio album “Intuition” that was released in December 2008. Foxx has definitely come a long way.
