Kelis Wants More Money From Nas

According to TMZ.com Kelis wants more money from Nas. She currently is suppose to get $44,000 month in child support ( damn that is someone’s yearly salary) from Nas, but her lawyers prove she should be able to get more money for child support and spousal support. Here is how they are calculating it:

– Nas pulls in $244,826 a month
– Kelis rakes in a relatively paltry $13,744 a month
– Kelis should get child support totaling $17,225 a month
– Kelis should get spousal support totaling $72,728
– Nas should pay retro child support totaling $29,522
– Nas should pay retro spousal support totaling $281,571

Kelis is not playing! We’re still trying to figure out the sudden cause of the divorce in the first place. It seems as though it was just yesterday that they were walking red carpets together.

Nas and Kelis Welcome a Baby Boy!

Congratulations are in order for Kelis and Nas, as they welcomed their baby boy, Knight Jones into the world Tuesday, July 21st at 9pm. The baby weighed in at 7.8 pounds, and is completely healthy. TMZ is reporting that Nas was finally allowed access into the hospital room to see his son, after initially being denied. Check out video of the happy father announcing his son’s birth at Ralph McDaniel’s (Video Music Box) concert in Queens after the jump.

Wondering why Kelis hasn’t twittered in the past couple of minutes? Well… word has it, she’s in labor!According to TMZ:

“Kelis is currently in labor, about to deliver a brand new baby boy. Rapper Nas — the baby daddy — is definitely not by her side. The two were scheduled to battle over expenses.”

Nas was in court when he heard she was in labor, and he has rushed over to the hospital to be by her side.

We always look forward to DJ Cassidy’s birthday party, because in our opinion he throws the greatest birthday bash every year. Last year DJ Cassidy celebrated his 27th birthday at Cipriani, and this past Wednesday he chose an even better venue, The New York Public Library. It was a star studded night, Jay-Z, Nas, Funkmaster Flex, Bobby Brown, and many other notable celebs were in the building.I got there extra early because I knew the door was going to get crazy, and of course I made the mistake of standing in the wrong line… by the time I realized I wasn’t in the “Press Line”, it was a MAD HOUSE. People were trying to push their way in past security guards, others were yelling “IM ON THE LIST!, and I even saw a little fight break out. Even with all the drama outside, I knew this wasn’t a party I wanted to miss, so I stayed patient and finally found my way in after about an hour.

The set up was gorgeous, and the crowd was nice. I was mad to see that the place wasn’t even packed and so many people that WERE on the list were stuck outside. I swear at these events, sometimes the guards make it seem so much bigger than it is. Anyway, drinks were provided by Sprite Green and Belvedere (same as last year). I absolutely loved how the drinks were named after popular Michael Jackson songs like “PYT” and “Smoot Criminal“. I was on Smooth Criminal all night. And they were serving my new favorite snack, Peanut Butter and marshmallow sandwiches!

I walked in behind Estelle, and shortly after I entered the venue, Jay-Z and Nas came through, so did singer Shantelle, BJ Coleman, Bobby Brown, DJ Webstar, and of course…what’s a good party without the Retro Kidz?

Bobby Brown made a random performance, which wasn’t so bad! He performed all of his hits and the crowd was going wild. Rakim’s performance also had the crowd going wild.

Around 1:30AM, Funkmaster Flex came through and played Michael Jackson hits. I spotted DJ Cassidy and O’Neil Mcknight doing their MJ moves. Pure comedy!

Overall, everyone appeared to be having a great time. Jay-Z was bobbin’ his head to the music and laughing with friends, while Malinda Williams danced on top of couches, and Micah Jesse and I did the moonwalk. Good Times!

Break-ups or Divorces are very hard to go through, especially when there are children involved. Imagine being pregnant and dumped, now that could send a woman to the looney bin. Imagine picking out baby clothes, choosing a name, and counting down the days until you deliver; then suddenly your man dumps you. WHAT DO YOU DO? During pregnancy you are highly emotional, everything seems like the end of the world. It’s easy for a guy to just bounce out, but you are stuck with a child…

Life is full of ups and down, but it has to suck to be single and pregnant. This doesn’t just happen to normal folks, but this problem also effects some of our favorite celebs. Jill Scott and Kelis always appear to be strong confident fab females, but they are victims of the pregnancy break-up/divorce. Jill recently sat down with Essence.com to discuss life as a single mother…

Jill Scott: He was there and for a couple of days afterwards while I stayed in hospital, but John and I are no longer together. When you have a baby you’re dealing with a lot of emotions and I don’t know how much of it had to do with us breaking up, but it happens. My heart and prayers go out to all single moms because it’s tough. I don’t understand how any mother does it alone.

Kelis is in a rough battle dealing with Nas. Nas refuses to support his future ex-wife, in any type of way. It’s rumored that he cheated on Kelis while she was pregnant. This is the second time Nas has decided to be an absent father. He has a daughter with ex-girlfriend, Carmen Bryan, who wrote a book about her life with Nas.

There isn’t a book out there that can help you deal with a break-up while pregnant. Women should always turn to others during this time. No one should have to deal with this on their own. Stress is the worst thing to have during pregnancy, so being around friends and family is always the best bet. Life goes on after any break-up, never forget that. Nas performing at Hunter University Tonight

Nas is scheduled to perform at Hunter College tonight at 7:00pm. Tickets are available in the Undergraduate Student Government office at HN 121. I suggest you get your tickets asap!

Hunter College is located on 68th street and Lexington Ave.
