Decorating Your Home With A Patriotic Theme
Your love for your country can certainly be shown in different ways, such as by being law abiding citizens, by respecting people from other nationalities, or by decorating your home in a way that reflects your feelings for your country. There are a lot of homes in the USA that are proud to flaunt their patriotic feelings and they do this by decorating their homes in a manner that depicts this emotion.
Here are a few simple ways to decorate your home based on a patriotic theme:
Exhibit the Stars and the Stripes on Your Porch
The best way you can flaunt your patriotism is by hanging the Star-Spangled Banner on your porch or at your doorsteps. Ensure that you don’t let the flag ever touch the ground or be subject to harsh weather and be sure that it is upright at all times. Before your exhibit the flag, check your state laws in regards to using the American flag.
Accessorize Using Red Blue and White
You can paint a wall using the colors of the stars and the stripes or use a table cloth in these colors and flaunt your patriotism. You can also make a wreath out of white, blue and red and hang on your door. This wreath can be made from different materials like cloth, plastic, paper etc.
Design a Special Room on the Star-Spangled Banner Theme
You can design your living area or any other room based on the color of the flag. White walls, red sofas and blue curtains will do the trick. You can throw white and red pillows on a blue sofa or use the colors in any innovative way that they highlight all the colors of the flag.
Showcase Small Flags on the Mantel
You can showcase small flags on the mantel along with the family portraits. If you have someone who serves in the Army, Navy, Marines, or Air-force then you can showcase a photo of them wearing their uniform along with the rest of the family.
Hang a Patriotic Bunting
On special occasions like the 4th of July, Memorial day etc, you can hang a patriotic bunting made from red, blue and white either on the stairways, outside your window, from the top of the wall, on your fence or from your porch. You can make these at home or buy from stores, whatever is convenient for you.
If you think creatively, there are a lot of different ways you can decorate your home in a patriotic manner, however, be careful that you do not disrespect or cause harm to the flag in any manner.
